Honcho, the Alpaca

About us

Granary Alpacas was established in 2004 by Sylvia and Ken Sharpe. Granary Alpacas are based in Low Catton a small village at the foot of the Wolds in East Yorkshire midway between York and Pocklington.

Looking for something a little less demanding than horses to occupy us in our retirement, we came across an article on alpacas. After much research and visits to other establishments, we decided to take the plunge purchasing two geldings, to be followed very shortly afterwards by three high quality breeding females two of which were pregnant by quality studs. We were well and truly hooked. We now have a small herd of fourteen, seven females three males and five recent arrivals.

If you would like to see them at first hand and learn a little more about these appealing creatures you are most welcome to visit us, by appointment.

We are registered members of the British Alpaca Society. (BAS).
